iMac's CPU 4+ threads?
How do you find out if an iMac's Intel CPU is capable of 4 or more threads? I have a 3.5 Ghz Intel Core i7 processor.
iMac, iOS 10.1.1

i7 desktop processors have 4 cores, each one can handle 2 threads for a total thread count of 8.
Not all i7's are dual core, while apple currently does not have a dual core i7 iMac many Apple (and other brand) laptops ship with lower power consumption and lower power delivery dual core i7 CPU's.
the 3.0/3.5 turbo Mac mini i7 is a dual core CPU
the 3.3 ghz MacBook Pro is a dual core CPU
so are several others.
go to activity monitor
to to WINDOW>CPU USAGE (or CMD+2)
I have dual xeon 4 core 8 thread CPU's, and here are the 16 threads total.

That is why I specified Desktop i7's, like an iMac which (coincidentally) is the subject of the post.
and I reiterated Apple does not have dual core i7 iMacs.
