Sidebar order in Finder

Hi
I know this might seem trivial, but it's bugging me.
When I was in El Capitan I could place the sidebar items in order of preference and they would stick.

I am trying to do this in Sierra and every time I open a Finder window again, they return to this jumbled order.

Is there a way to set these and have them stay in a defined order I state?

Thanks in advance

I am able to do what you describe. When you move or delete an item in the sidebar does it fail to stick immediately? Does the sidebar revert to its original setup after you close and re-open a window? Does it revert after restarting or logging back in? What kind of account do you use? Admin? General? Managed? (I don't think this should matter.)

Open your library folder (you may need to hold the option key while looking under the Go menu) and then open the Preferences folder. Inside look for and move the com.apple.finder.plist file to another folder. (Protecting it in case this doesn't fix the problem). Now try moving sidebar items and see if they stick. If so, great (It should since the finder.plist is where the information is stored) but you may now need to make a few other adjustments to Finder like changing the text size etc - changes that you have made but lost when starting with a default Finder. If this didn't fix the problem move the original com.apple.finder.plist back into the Preferences folder.
