Uninstall QuickTime

I'm running Sierra on my MacBook Pro. QuickTime does not run properly and is using valuable space. How can I remove it? I tried taking it from the App folder and putting it in the trash but, I received this message, "QuickTime Player” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by macOS." There has to be a back door way to remove this. Space is valuable and I don't need an app that doesn't work taking up this space.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Hello,

take a look at the following link ... there you will find a description how to delete osx-specific apps from your mac .... BUT READ CAREFULLY, because you should really know what you do ... deleting those apps can cause magnificent malfunction to your system!! So, whatever you do, you do it on YOUR OWN RISK!!
