Hitting space bar opens roles shortcut instead of playing in Browser

Since 10.3, whenever I'm in list view in the browser and hit space bar to start playing media, it opens the Roles shortcut menu instead of playing.

Here are some things I've tried to fix it:

  1. Trash preferences
  2. Reset keyboard preferences
  3. Opened in another user account (BTW, it actually works correctly in other accounts).

Control-space seems to still work, so that's my workaround.

My guess is that some other software is interfering but I've never experienced this before and I have pretty standard software running.

Has anyone else had this problem? Not sure what else to try.User uploaded file

After playing around with this for more time then I should have, I figured out my own problem (and discovered a new bug in 10.3 along the way).

After trying a whole bunch of things, including trashing FCP and all associated files, I played around in the account that was working fine.

It then dawned on me, my user account is set up for full keyboard access (System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Full Keyboard Access> All controls).

By tapping the space bar, it's actually activating the drop-down box for the Roles column. I.e. somehow the Roles drop-down gets focus by default when "All controls" is turned on.

After turning Full Keyboard Access to "Text Boxes and Lists only", it plays the clip as expected when hitting the space bar. Here's hoping this is fixed in a future version of the 10.3.x!
