No difference when "rest finger to open" is on or off

I am turning it on and off and my iphone 6s is behaving the same way, regardless of whether Rest Finger to open is turned on or off. I click once and it unlocks and opens to home screen in either on or off mode. ??

Are you using Touch ID? This setting will only make difference if you are using Touch ID. Actually, I use Touch ID, and I see no difference in opening my device. But then, that is because I always opened my device with the home button. Some people are used to opening the device with the sleep/wake button, and then swiping to get to the home screen if they did not use a passcode. Those individuals still have to swipe but now need to press the home button to get to the home screen. For individuals using Touch ID, if you had awakened the screen with the sleep/wake button, then put your finger on Touch ID, it would open. That will not happen now unless you turn on Rest Finger. If you were used to putting your finger on Touch ID and pressing the home button, you really will not see a change in behavior.
