You can't have a really thin (and fashionable) laptop and squeeze in a DVD player too. You can, however, get one from Apple.
Or shares another PC or Mac's DVD drive.
Use the CD or DVD drive from another computer with your Mac - Apple Support
I guess it is because the laptop is too thin, and also Apple think that not much people using it.
Apple has decided that less users have need of an optical drives so they see no need to charge everyone for one.
For those that still have a need for an optical drive, external ones are available for those users.
Great question! Apple's new Macbook Pro, have the USB-C ports. Most/all USBs will actually not fit into this 😟 So there are two things that I suggest you do to, in order to insert a DVD player.
1. You should purchase a USB-C to USB Adapter. (Click here to see this on the website). This will allow you to plug the adapter INTO the USB-C on the Macbook. When plugging this in, you will then be able to plug in USBs into the adapter, allowing the Macbook to read the USB.
2. You should purchased the Apple USB SuperDrive. (Click here to see this on the website). Due to this being a USB SuperDrive, you will be able to plug this into the USB Port on the adapter, allowing you to then insert DVDs into the SuperDrive.
If you have any more questions, chuck me a reply!
