Digital Crown is unresponsive

As the subject , my apple watch's digital crown is not working . Although i can press and scroll smoothly , it's totally unresponsive. Is there any locked funtion to be activated or the crown is broken ? Would you please give me an advice for this issue ? Thanks in advance.

Restart your watch by pressing the side button for a few seconds, swiping to the right on the "power off" slider, waiting for it to shut down, then pressing the side button for a few seconds again until you see the Apple logo to turn it back on.

If that does not work, then try un-pairing your watch with your iPhone and the re-pairing it:

Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support

Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

A backup is made automatically as part of the un-pairing process.

If that still does not resolve the problem, then you may have a hardware issue, as there is no function that would "lock" the Digital Crown. You can take it in for service or arrange to send it in at http://getsupport.apple.com.

Hi

Operation of the Digital Crown can be affected by substances like dust.

Even though it appears to be moving smoothly, it may help to clean the Digital Crown by following the instructions here under the heading "If the Digital Crown gets stuck or won’t move":

Use the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Along with the rest of the watch, the Digital Crown mechanism is covered against defects in manufacturing or workmanship - such as a gasket working loose - under Apple's One Year Limited Warranty.

If the issue persists after cleaning the Digital Crown and also after restarting and re-pairing your watch, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider with a view to arranging for your watch to be inspected and, if recommended, serviced or replaced (whether under warranty, if eligible, or via chargeable repair service):
