iOS integration with Whatsapp call not working

The Notification and Sound upon receipt of Whatsapp Call does not remain integrated with the iOS Phone App, after the settings are Reset.

As a result of which the Whatsapp call is not listed in the Recent Call History of the Phones App and the Ringtone for Whatsapp Call does not come as set in the Ringtones set in the Settings> Sounds & Haptics> Ringtone.

The Whatsapp call notification also does not appear as a normal cellular network call notification by way of appearing in the full Home Screen. Instead it appears as a small box notification which used to appear in the earlier versions of iOS 8 or iOS 9.

This bug is perhaps long pending on account of Apple as evident from the following links:

https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/iphone/30025312

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7666491?start=0&tstart=0

The problem of non integration of ringtone in whatsapp call is also manifesting itself in the whatsapp video call apart from occurring in whatsapp audio call.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Goto Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings

2. Dial to the phone on Whatsapp call

3. Now the ringtone on receipt of Whatsapp call is not the same as set in Settings> Sounds & Haptics> Ringtone. The Ringtone coming at this point of time is "Opening (default)" which is the standard Phone App Ringtone as default ringtone.

Expected Results:

The Ringtone on a Whatsapp call should be the same as configured in Settings> Sounds & Haptics> Ringtone or as configured as Ringtone against a particular Contact in Contacts App.

Actual Results:

Ringtone coming against Whatsapp Call is "Opening (default)" which is the default Phone App Ringtone.

1.) Whenever reset is done as Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, the list of Recent whatsapp calls in the Phone App does not get deleted/ affected. However, whenever all the settings are reset under Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings, the list of all whatsapp calls in the Recents tab under Phone App gets deleted and then no Whatsapp call remains in the Recent Call list.

2.) The problem does not occur if the Network Settings are reset under Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

3.) The problem does occur when all the settings are reset under Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.

4.) Subsequent to whenever all the settings are reset under Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings, the receipt of Whatsapp calls gets erratic. Sometimes the call is received and at other times the caller gets caller tone but no ringtone is received at the other end.

5.) The problem is resolved after a Hard Reset of the phone by pressing the Power button and the Volume lowering button (iPhone 7 or the Home Button in other iPhone models).

6.) The problem is already known to everyone. In fact Whatsapp has listed the problem as a bug in iOS on its website as below-

https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/iphone/30025312

Further, many users have also highlighted this bug in the Apple online discussion forums on the link-

Notes:

The error can be resolved by Hard Reset of the Phone by pressing Home + Power button for 10 seconds till Apple Logo comes up and the phone restarts.

After the Hard reset of the phone, the Whatsapp call ringtone gets set to the ringtone set for the Phone App under Settings> Sounds & Haptics> Ringtone.
