TV Provider Sign in Error

I receive a sign in error that states "We are sorry, but you are not authorized to access this web site. Please verify you are authorized and re-enter your User ID and password." This error message occurs on my AppleTV as well as my iPhone, both have the most current update installed. I have DirecTV with an @att.net login. I am certain that I am logging in with my correct User ID and password. What should I do?

Apple TV (4th generation), tvOS 10.0.1

I have the exact same issue. From reading other forums, the issue is with those of use who have unified billing on AT&T where DirecTV is combined with another AT&T account (Internet, wireless).


AT&T support claims "Apple TV is not supported", which is false. I've been back and forth with AT&T via Twitter support and getting no where.


The issue is clearly on AT&T's side with authentication setting. They must be showing us as UVerse customers instead of DirecTV customers.

My understanding is once you have unified billing that they don't allow non- att.net login to be used. I already tried to create a sub login on DirecTV but it gives the same error.


Point is our accounts are not flagged properly on AT&T's side to allow the authentication to properly work. Somehow unified billing accounts are not showing as "DirecTV".

I have both DIRECTV and at&t accounts. I have not unified them yet and I still get the same error message. I try to log in with my DIRECTV account information ending in att.net and continue to get the error message. I have used the same login information to login to over 10 different apps on my Apple TV and iPhone so I know the account works, it just won't work on the single tv provider login. Help us out apple! Love the idea, now we need it to work.
