how to delete a name from group text

How do I get the correct instructions on how to delete a name from group text without deleting them entirely. Swipe to the left exposes the person's info, not a delete button.

It looks like you're wanting to remove a contact from a group message on your iPhone and are not getting the "Delete" option. It's important to be able to manage Messages. You’re in the right place for help with this.

You can remove someone from a group message by following the steps in Send a group message on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch , specifically this section:

Add or remove someone from a group conversation

Anyone in a group iMessage can add or remove someone from the conversation. You can remove a person from a group iMessage that has at least three other people.

Add a person

User uploaded file

  1. Tap the group conversation you want to add someone to.
  2. Tap User uploaded file, then tap Add Contact.
  3. Enter the contact information for the person you want to add. Then tap Done.

Remove a person

User uploaded file

  1. Tap the group conversation that has the contact you want to remove.
  2. Tap User uploaded file, then swipe left over the name of the person you want to remove.
  3. Tap Delete, then tap Done.

Keep in mind you can remove people from a group iMessages only. People cannot be removed from group MMS messages and group SMS messages.
