That's got nothing to do with the problem. As for actually removing the apps, it does take just the right touch to get the jiggling icon with the x for removal rather than popping up the 3D touch share button. I still struggle to press hard enough to delete but not hard enough to activate the sharing pop-up.
That is the worst response I have ever read on help forum.
Lay your finger on the app icon with light pressure til they wiggle and press the 'x' to delete the app. If you press too hard it will give you the option to share the app.
