How do I find out which app is charging my carrier for an iMessage

A message keeps coming up on my iPhone "Your carrier may charge for an iMessage". I removed all the possible apps such as Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, but I still get the message every day. I tried choosing Cancel, which seems to prevent a message charge on my phone, but would like to use all my favourite apps without getting charges. Apple have provided no traceability, as the carrier can only say that they are being charged by Apple. Any hints? Thanks so much 🙂

Hello FleeWay,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are getting a message that you will be charged for an iMessage. One thing that this could be is the activation text message. I would recommend you read this article, use it to help troubleshoot the issue.

Make sure that you’re connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network. If you're using an iPhone, you'll need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.

If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime

Activating iMessage and FaceTime requires an SMS message be sent. Depending on where you are, it may be an international messages. If you are using your iPhone on a supported carrier, you'll never see the message or a charge for it. If you're using the phone on an unsupported carrier, your carrier can (probably will) charge you for the international SMS.
