How can I remove this partition?

Hi, excuse me to intrude, i was wondering if this would work for me. I have windows installed in my mac, and wanted to remove it, but i keep getting this message:

When i looked it up i have a partition in my disk that's named disk0s4 and it's sized exactly 471.9mb. The "-"option is greyed out on disk utility and i just want the whole thing to be gone.

Run

diskutil eraseVolume jhfs+ BC1 disk0s3

diskutil eraseVolume jhfs+ BC2 disk0s4

diskutil mergePartitions jhfs+ BCMP disk0s3 disk0s4

diskutil list

If you only see disk0s3 after the last command, then

diskutil eraseVolume fat32 BOOTCAMP disk0s3

and now run BC Assistant and click on Remove/Restore.

Hello sorry to intrude but this seems to be the only post i could find on the internet that could help me with this problem even apple store genius bar couldn't help as they told me that the only way was to factory reset my computer.

Thank you for the help. Unfortunately I spent hours and hours yesterday trying to fix this issue and changes were made prior to your advice (mistakes were made). If you do not see

• any errors, and,
• see only disk0s3, but not disk0s4, then run

diskutil eraseVolume fat32 BOOTCAMP disk0s3

and now run BCA and click on Remove/Restore. Post the output of the terminal session, if you see any errors.

Have you tried to install Windows multiple times and failed more than once? That layout implies related failures. Do not run any of the eraseVolume commands more than once.

Yes, otherwise BC Assistant will not remove and merge it back into the main macOS partition.

You should disconnect all external storage when installing Windows, unless BC Assistant prompts you to connect one. The current layout issue is due to the external disk connected. Also, run SMC and NVRAM reset after any errors, before you next attempt.

Help! I accidentally cancelled in the middle of Bootcamp downloading my windows file and I cannot delete the partition now. It will not allow me to re-open bootcamp or use disk utility to delete. Any help you could provide would be absolutely amazing, it took me just over an hour to even find this post! I can post any screenshots you need, just let me know!

Hi Loner T, I've followed your steps until "diskutil eraseVolume fat32 BOOTCAMP disk0s3" but strangely, the BOOTCAMP switched to /dev/disk1 from /dev/disk0. When I run bootcamp assistant, it still says "The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition."

Any insight?

Do you have a diskutil list output before you merged/deleted any changes? You have a Fusion drive, which has two underlying physical drives. Your current output is missing the Recovery HD on the HDD part of the Fusion drive. If you intentionally merged Recovery HD and Bootcamp, it is not a good thing to do.

Do you have a Time Machine backup?

I do not have the output before I merge. However I rem my disk0 contains two partitions of "recovery HD" which is why I tried to merge one of the "recovery HD" partition to the bootcamp. However after merging both "recovry HD" went missing. I ma have screwed up somewhere.

After merging, I tried to run bootcamp assistant but with error message. Got fed up and use disk utility to remove the bootcamp partition. Now my bootcamp assistant can proceed but now I ended up with missing 400GB of disk space which I previously use for the bootcamp partition.

Please advise my next step. How can I recover my missing disk space?
