why is there no giraffe emoji?
I love giraffes and so do so many other people. I have been waiting years for a giraffe emoji. Please make one
The giraffes were consulted, they do not want to be depicted as a cartoon character.

Apple does not make emoji. And, you are not even talking to Apple here, this is a user to user support forum. If you wish to see changes to the emoji list, then contact the Unicode Consortium. They are the ones that produce them.
No one will ever be satisfied with the emoji list. What ever happened to typing words?
Because Unicode 10.0, which contains one, won’t be out until mid-2017.
