No applecare for airpods?

I just ordered my AirPods on day 1 with 4 week delivery and during buy, there wasn't an option for AppleCare. When does apple sell something without AppleCare and why?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.2, AirPods

Hi

You would need to ask Apple why AppleCare is not available for AirPods or any other given product (you are not talking to Apple here - this is a user-based technical support community):

After noting the exclusion of AppleCare...

I made an attempt to purchase them from Best Buy for the Geek squad protection but I'm shocked.. it's not available for airpods.. I share your obvious concerns.. hope all is well with them..

Please post follow up when you receive your airpods.. new orders are now up to 6 weeks till deliver.
