Civilization IV on my NEW MacBook

So I just bought a new 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook. I believe I have an Intel graphics card. Am I pretty much screwed on not being able to play one of my favorite games, the Civilization series, on this new machine that I could only have gotten an Intel graphics card in?

Civ. IV requirements are as follows: 512MB of RAM; 64MB video RAM (128MB recommended; ATI Radeon 9600 or Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 or better).

I'm running 1GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.

IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY THIS GAME?????

Please help.

MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Here's what a reviewer over at insidemacgames.com said: "Civ IV is not nice in the system requirements department. Although I didn't have anything that barely fulfilled the minimums to test on, my MacBook Pro (2.16 gHz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB RAM, 256 MB VRAM) ran it well at native resolution (1440x900) with details turned up, but would noticeably slow on larger maps with lots of civilizations and towns. I also tried the game on my friend's 1.5 gHz PowerBook G4, and even with settings all the way down the game ran so slowly as to be unplayable."
