What happens if I lose the wireless signal with the progress bar still working?

Updated iOS, still getting the progress bar working and scared to pull out of Starbucks and lose the wifi signal. If we lose the signal, will the update be ok? We need the phone for a 10hr drive like now.

iOS 10.2

What progress bar exactly?

The one on a black screen with the Apple Logo above it?

Or the one in Settings->General->software Update that shows the download progress?

If its the one on the black screen, then you can safely leave. Wifi is not being used at this point. It's installing the update

and internet access is not necessary at that point.

If its the other one in Settings, then it will just pause the download and continue once you connect to a wifi network again.
