powerbook G4 locked cannot login !!!

hey well can anyone help me out...i found a powerbook g4 at a pawn shop but when i turned it on it was locked by another person and it needs a password...and of course i wouldnt know the password to this powerbook g4 i found....so yea is there any way i could reset this login that is already on there when i turn on the computer ..since i dont know the password to login???

A clean insatall is probably the only thing you can do to make the Mac accessible.

When you are going to do a clean install, you can chose the option "archieve and install". Now all the files will still be on the HD after you installed OSX.

Maybe you can now find out who is the owner off this Powerbook.

well the problem is i found this at a pawn shop and well they wont give me info to the previous owner so i cant do that...and well if i bought i was wondering if there is like some kinda reset button or something that can reset the login account that was on it before since i do not know the password of this previous owner

To do a clean install you need the installation DVD's off OSX. When you have them you need to insert the first disk and shut down the Mac. Now you hold down the C key and start-up the Mac again. The Powerbook will start-up from the installation DVD. Just follow the steps on your screen to re-install OSX. Make sure you have selected "archive and install" at the "customize" menu.

After OSX has been installed, you should be able to find some document's with the owner's name or e-mail adress.

Take a look at MacSales, a really nice webshop for Mac stuff:
Apple Mac OS X 10.3.x "Panther"
Apple Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger"

Panther is the previous version, Tiger is the current. Depents on how much you want to pay for it.
