Battery usage not showing?

Hello guys,

as many people, I also have a battery problem, battery is new, but it drains even in standby (nearly every function there is on iPhone is off). Total usage / standby time is cca 18 hours, which is really poor. This problem didn´t occur until ios 10.

But as I know it´s software related, I have another question..

When I go to battery to check which apps are draining it, I only have following text:

"Battery information will be available after using iPhone for a few minutes."

This never changes, it just stays like that. I´ve done multiple fresh starts, this has been in 10.1.1 as well.

iPhone 6 plus 64Gb.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

So, I have reinstalled to 10.2 via iTunes, then I did a complete DFU restore, and now I run 10.2.1, still no changes, battery usage doesn´t show up. I tried also charging the phone to 90% max so I have more than 24 hours from since last full charge (100% lasts for max 16 hours, phone drains on standby like it was in normal use), still nothing...

Is there any other way?

So to followup, it's the battery. My local Authorized Service depot, tried 2 more batteries until the 3rd one would give battery usage stats. The Apple Store "genius" was only interested in selling me a refurb for $329. Be persistent and take it somewhere else that knows how to diagnose these complex issues.

Hi. Seems like you're on to it. I changed the battery to a cheap eBay one and all was fine until I updated to iOS 10.3.1 even the battery life was fine until the update. After the update battery brain was crazy. Full dfu restore and still the same. I'm after finding a genuine 6s battery online from a broken phone. My question is this. When I swap out the cheap battery for the real apple one do I need to restore the phone again or will the phone know it now has the real one in it ? Really hoping this works as the battery life is terrible. Cheers. Look forward to the reply

I've gotten the phone taken apart by tech repair guys that do micro soldering. The u2 ic chip is fried. It can have numerous symptoms. A short in a charger lead fried it. Voltage fluctuations caused it.

Fake charging , not charging a totally dead battery , rapid battery drain. Very common once you know symptoms and what to google.

90 euro to get it replaced. In a repair shop. Not apple.

Happy to have it sorted

After 3 complete discharge / charge cycles the batery usage info was displayed all of the sudden. So, basically, after the 4th charge since the phone was bought it started displaying the batery stats, without me doing anything to it.

In regard to the battery life, I'm quite satisfied with it, I've gotten upwards of 110hours per charge with ~8 h of usage and the rest of it stand by. The max I've got so far is 147.5 hours (9h of usage and 138h of stand by), roughly 6 days.

Mobile data is always on, so is WiFi.

I have a 6s I recently replaced the battery and now I get about 20 hours standby and 5 hours usage without the details of which apps are drainging the battery. Apple thinks they’re sneaky, if you use a battery or screen that isn’t Apple brand then the firmware is designed to glitch your phone.

If you say that the battery is new, has it been replaced recently, or is it the still the first battery?

Did you try to set the phone back to factory settings, without using any backup and check the battery life after that?

Sure, I did a fresh start through iTunes without backup with version 10.0.1, 10.1 and 10.1.1, I have 10.2 through beta though, all the way up to beta 7 and when full version has been released, there was no pudate anymore..

Battery has been replaced also with charging dock about a month and a half ago.

If Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider replaced the battery, bring it back to them, replacing the battery is also covered by a short warranty period.

Downloading the official 10.2. might also help, follow the steps given to you when you joined the test program to remove the beta.

Well, battery should be fine, same is happening like with the old one, if I start battery life on full charge, standby is about 16 days...which never happens though. It´s like the phone never did go into idle mode.

Anyway, I deleted beta profile two - three days ago, but didn´t update again via iTunes. Will do it soon, hope it helps, but I give it a fat chance as in previous ios 10 versions it did the same :-(
