iPhone 7P - Stayed lit for hours

My iPhone 7P stayed lit for about an hour and a half last night, before I finally got up and clicked the lock button, which made the screen go dark. I had raised the phone to see what time it was and then put the phone back on the dresser when this happened. The phone was already locked, but instead of going dark after I put it down, it stayed fully lit up as the phone sat on the dresser for the hour and a half. I know it stayed lit the whole time because I kept waking up and seeing the light. This morning, when I checked battery usage for the past 24 hours, my iPhone 7P indicated that the Home and Lock Screen had used 35% of my battery, but the usage time was listed as only 4 minutes. The actual battery loss from the time the screen stayed on until I turned it off an hour and a half later was about 15%, which could have translated into 35% of the phone's usage for the past 24 hours. I've checked Display and Brightness and I had my AutoLock set to 1 minute. I also have the Raise to Wake set, but the phone was lying on the dresser the whole time it was lit. Any thoughts?

Hi Dawn, thanks for your reply.

No, the issue is that the phone was already locked, but when I raised it in the middle of the night to see what time it was (raise to wake) the phone stayed lit (on the lock screen) even after I put it down. The light never went out. An hour and a half later I got up and hit the lock button and the screen went dark. The question is why did it stay lit until I hit the lock button? It was already locked and all I did was raise it up and then put it back down. I had no apps running, in fact I had just swiped them all closed before I went to bed. And yes, I believe the batter usage function on the iPhone 7P was incorrect. It showed that 35% of my last 24 hours of batter usage was spent on the lock and home screen, but it indicated the total time (over the last 24 hours) spent on both screens was only 4 minutes. Just doesn't add up. I believe there must be a flaw in the raise to wake function (it is a new function) which kept the phone lit even when I put it down. I also think there is a flaw in the battery usage meter because using the lock and home screen for 4 minutes should not equate to 35% of a 24 hour snapshot of battery power usage. I believe the usage percentage was correct (the hour and a half the phone stayed lit used 35% of my batter power in a 24 hour period) but the 4 minutes was incorrect. It should have read an hour and a half. Thanks, Eric.
