Safari Background Web Content

Over the past few days my MacBook Pro has suffered a serious setback in performance. After investigating a bit, I discovered that Safari is probably the culprit. Further investigation seems to indicate the Safari is loading web sites in the background that don't show up anywhere in the Finder. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I want to keep using Safari if possible, but not if it's going to eat up all the resources on my computer.

Please run EtreCheck and post the report here.

http://etresoft.com/etrecheck

Download it, open Downloads folder, click on it to open, and then select ”Open”.

Click on the bouncing EtreCheck icon in the Dock.

“Choose a problem” from the popup menu box, and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” .
