Why did imessage sign me out?

My iMessage signed me out of my Apple ID account after one of the newer updates, and it dosent give me an option to sign back in. When i try to sign in with my imessage, the input bar would stay grey. Not even giving me an option to insert my ID. But all otger features seem to be working fine with the ID, just imessage got messed up.
