LaserJet Pro P1102W keeps disconnecting

After installing macOS Sierra a couple of days ago, I lost my printer in Preferences (LaserJet Pro P1102W). I added it back, but now every time I try use it I'm greeted with the "Not Connected" icon. I go through the delete/add printer process repeatedly, but the same thing happens. This has never happened prior to installing the latest OS update. Also, I do ensure I'm not selecting "AirPrint" and selecting the actual printer driver.

The HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer is an Apple AirPrint-enabled printer. No USB connection is required and no drivers are required. Please read Connect an AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support.

Sometimes, you have to restart your wireless router or access point for an AirPrint-enabled device to be recognized on your Mac. To do that just unplug your router from its power receptacle, wait a moment or two, and then plug it back in.

If you can't get it to work, I suggest "resetting the printing system" according to macOS Sierra: Reset the printing system, followed by adding it again as an AirPrint device: macOS Sierra: Add or remove a printer.

For scanning documents, please read Mac Basics: Using a scanner - Apple Support.

If you're still having trouble, please review the suggestions in Resolve printer issues on your Mac - Apple Support.

Thanks, John. However, the two drivers that appear when installing this printer are "AirPrint" and "LaserJet Professional P1100 Series" and HP recommends the latter for installation on a Mac. In fact, the latter is what I've used for the past five years I've owned the printer using sever OS X versions. It's always shown up when I print from my iPhone.

I'll remove the printer and reinstall it using the "AirPrint" driver and see if it stays works and stays connected, but as of now it's been behaving installed with the "LaserJet Pro P1100 Series" driver.
