Is it possible to specify colours in Keynote in CMYK or RGB. Old discussions mention selecting the slider but I can't see that option, and the current ones do not relate to CMYK or RGB.

Old discussions mention selecting the slider but I can't see an option to change the % slider to CMYK or RGB.

Keynote is an RGB video based application, designed to create presentations on televisions, computer displays and video projectors. These devices require an RGB colour scheme only.


CMYK values are only of use when used in a workflow for output to commercial printing presses such as offset litho.


Therefore when using Keynote,

1- set the colour profile to Generic RGB in:

Apple Menu > System Preferences > Displays > Colour:

2 - In Keynote select the object you want to fill with colour, click on the colour wheel in; Inspector > Format > Style

then in the Colour palette click on the slider tab and select RGB sliders in the dropdown menu as in the image below:
