Jaybird x3 inconsistent Bluetooth connection

Hello,

Yesterday i received my iPhone 7 and later that day i wanted to watch some Netflix with my new Jaybird x3 earbuds. i noticed that the connection in very unreliable since most of the time sound was out of sync with the video(same goes for youtube), this isnt happening on my old Nexus 5x, anyway i can resolve this problem? Is it maybe a bug in the OS? Since it it is only happening on my iphone and not my nexus device.

Thanks in adavance!

I have the exact same issues with my iPod and the X3 and the same problem although not as severe with my iPad.

Tried everything under the sun including resetting the iPod, pairing unpairing etc. and will return the headphones today and simply try several models/brands until I find one that offers a stable Bluetooth connection.

Makes you wonder how much of the problem is due to weak components in Apple devices.

On a related note - I wish this forum would provide more than just the standard triage questions.

Was there a recent upgrade to ios? Becuase I bought the X3s after amazon prime day and they do not work properly with the iphone or ipad.

My worst issue is audio sync issues. There is 1-2 second lag in audio with playing games, or dialing the phone.

Work-around:

Launch itunes and then play a movie. For some reason this corrects the problem temporarily until you shut down your app again.

Really frustrating. Not sure who's to blame here, Apple or Jaybird.

I will say this. My jaybird X2 works fine with apple products. Also, these X3s work fine with my android tablet.

So apple sabotage? 🙂

Hi there, Senenter.
Congratulations on your new iPhone 7! I see that there's an issue when you use your Jaybird earbuds while playing videos on your iPhone. The sound isn't syncing properly with what's being played. I'll be glad to help.
Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I RESET MY BUDS?

If you’re experiencing issues with your buds like connectivity, audio, and distortion, or connecting to the MySound app, you may want to try resetting your headphones.

To reset your buds, follow the steps below.

  1. Make sure your buds are powered off.
  2. From an off state, press and hold the power button for 8 seconds until the LEDs flash red and green.
  3. Double press the power button. The LED will flash rapidly and you should hear a double tone. Your buds have now been reset.

Note: When you reset your buds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. You’ll need to repair your buds to your Bluetooth device.

Hello back, Seneter!
Since you've already tried those steps from Jaybird, we have other steps to use.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Unpair your earbuds, then pair them again once your phone returns to the home screen and test. Also, does the video/sound work correctly when played through the phone itself?
Set up and use third-party Bluetooth accessories -- If a restart didn't help, along with the steps provided in this article, see how your iPhone and another bluetooth headset work together. If you don't own another set, see if you can use a friend's or family members and let us know how it goes.

Cheers!
