Can I browse Apple Music using my watch?

Ok so I have an Apple Watch and I have an Apple Music account. But it seems like I can't search music using my Watch even when it's connected to my iPhone.

So I can open iTunes on my phone, search Apple Music and select and album by an artist to start playing on my outdoor speakers. Then get into the spa pool.. but from there I can only use my watch to skip tracks on that particular album that is playing. I can't go and see other albums or other artists using my watch even though it's just controlling the phone.

That's really dumb - tell me I'm wrong?

Hi

When your Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone, your watch can be used to control playback of the following on your iPhone:

  • Quick Play - with an Apple Music membership, Quick Play chooses a list of songs for you.
  • Now Playing - play or pause what is currently playing on your iPhone.
  • Beats 1 - listen to Apple's radio station.
  • My Music - browse your music library by Artist, Album, or Song.
  • Playlists - listen to playlists on your iPhone.

To access unlimited streaming music from Apple Music as part of your Apple Music membership, be sure to use the Music app on your iPhone:

When you have an active Apple Music membership, it remains possible to also buy music from iTunes Store. This would be a separate purchase, charged in addition to your Apple Music membership:
