Touch Bar Emoji Not Working

When in Messages app and I hit the smiley face to expand emoji choices, the touch bar goes blank. Restarting fixes the issue temporarily. I believe this is happening after I have used the "Screen Lock" shortcut button in touch bar and returning to the computer a few moments later. Can't be certain but seems to be the only common denominator on my end. Anyone else having this issue or found a fix?

This just started happening with my 2017 MBP 13 as well. I'm about to restart to try to fix the issue but it seems like that isn't a permanent solution from what I read here.

Has anyone found a solution yet?

yes I am facing the same problem. I am also facing that if I want to do emoji on twitter or Facebook its not showing me option to do so. the bar just goes black or doesn't show me the option for emoji. its quite irritating. you buy so expensive laptop and it gives u trouble

Thanks. I don't know what WebRoot is can you pls tell? I don't think I have anything like that. my laptop is just one day old.. lol..

I'm having same problem.......I just got this computer and paid way to much money for so many problems. Seems apple doesn't know how to fix it either. ugh....
