iPhone 5c won't charge in 2013 Subaru Impreza

Hi all - I know there's a lot of postings on this issue but I haven't found my situation addressed.

I recently purchased a 2013 Subaru Impreza. The USB port in the central console will not charge my iPhone 5c. I have what I think is a 12V --> USB adapter (it was a freebie at some conference, so not totally sure). That was working for a while to charge the iPhone. I recently updated the phone and now it will not charge in my car. I have charged the phone in my car since the update, so I'm not sure if that is the problem.

Any solutions?
