MacBook Pro types multiple letters at once

So out of nowhere my keyboard seems to be malfunctioning (No liquid spills, overheating, and it hasn't been dropped). When I type certain letters, I'll get a combination of surrounding letters too. For instance, if I type the letter A, I'll get as instead, the letter January gives me jkl, etc. To even log in I had to use an external keyboard because upon restarting it just types \\\\\\\\\ continuously. If I press the caps lock key, it cannot be turned off again.

It's a MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch early 2015, and I got it about two months ago. I do have apple care, but if it can be fixed by changing a setting or something I'd rather save the hassle and do it myself.

It does sound like a hardware issue, but I would try booting into Internet Recovery as described here:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201314

Then you can choose "Get Help Online" and enter some text somewhere in the browser.

If you get the same extra keystrokes when booting into Recovery, you can be sure it's not a software issue.
