Can we still get an upgrade from 10.6.8 to 10.8 anywhere?

We have an old G4 desktop running 10.6.8, we now need to upgrade but we can't run Sierra on the old Mac and don't really like El Capitan very much anyway. Is it possible to still get system upgrades from the past (10.8 or close)? AppStore only offers Sierra now.

Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Hi,

You can purchase v10.8 Mountain Lion directly from Apple > http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion

They will send you an email with a redemption code you can use at the App Store to download v10.8. Make sure to backup your important data prior to upgrading.

10.8 Mountain Lion requirements.

To install Mountain Lion, you need one of these Macs:

  • iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
