Click noise when closing lid - Macbook Pro 13" 2016

I'm having the same exact issue. I wonder if it has to do with the colder climate (I live in Michigan). But yeah, when I close it, right when it's roughly an inch from being closed, there's a soft click noise from the right side (facing). If I open it while the Macbook is cold, then there's a louder click noise from the right side as well. I haven't been able to find anything at all about it online until now. I've actually had 3 of the 2016 Macbook Pros (long story) and all 3 did the same thing. I currently have the 512GB 13" Touch Bar version.

I've also considered that it may be the new spring mechanism for the hinge that reveals the display connection:

So a replacement completely resolved the issue? It's silent?

I have the same issue on my MBP 13" 2016, a faint click that sometimes is barely audible when closing the lid. I think it comes from the top right corner, above the power button. Doesn't bother me too much, though it d be nice to know what it is.

Is it only 1 single click or many click sounds? mine makes a little "clap" sound when closing the lid, that's normal... there are two magnets on the edge of the screen... those magnets make sure the lid is closed well...🙂

Bring the MBP into an Apple store and have it examined. I assume that your MBP is under warranty.
