Final Cut Pro X LIBRARY KEEPS CLOSING

Hi,

I can no longer edit an important project I'm editing for work - every time I open the library I'm working on it in, and try to edit anything, a window pops up: "Cannot Save Changes to "Library Name"". Says "The storage location for one or more libraries is no longer available. The libraries will be closed so that no work is lost."

I have seen this maybe once before, but it was a fluke and went away. This is consistent. I tried a different cable connecting my hard drive to my computer (library is on the hard drive) and that didn't work. I wonder if my hard drive is too full and that might be a problem? Or whether the project might have too many moving pieces. Though I haven't had trouble with that before. I am worried about losing my footage, also need to be able to work on it. Help!

Most likely a year too late, I finally was able to fix my exact same problem by exporting the FCPX library as an XML file, create a new library, and then import the XML file. The XML file contained all of my edits and effects. All of my clips had to transcode and render again, but after everything was done, I was able to continue my editing and never received the "The storage location for one or more libraries is no longer available. The libraries will be closed so that no work is lost." pop-up again. Hopefully this helps others who ran/run into this problem 🙂.

I have the same problem.

Have been working on a project with 13 different episodes short video's and suddenly today it started crashing with the same notification. My library with all my projects are all on a separate drive.

I deleted the render file, so it could build up a fresh one (have read somewhere on other fcux failures this could help), but it didn't make a difference.

What did I do different before:

Before I started editing I created more available space on my Mac by transporting some files from my Mac to another separate Drive. I had 24 Gb and after 36 Gb so it should have been enough anyway.

Both drives where attached when the first notification showed. Than I disconnected the second drive, to see if that was interfering, but it kept crashing.

Anyone solved this one yet?
