IPad pro 9.7 screeching noise (Please Help)

I had the same peoblem with a screetching loud sound and I received my iPad Pro just today.

A little background: is was using Swift Playgrounds while a timer or alarm went off. The iPad froze and there was a high pitched, lout screetching sound. A force restart stopped it. I'm on 10.3.3.

I have an IPad Air, 3 years old. Just yesterday I was on Spotify music at night trying to listen to a song I reallly wanted to. Then as soon as I clicked on it my iPad made a VERY LOUD MECHANICAL SCREEEEECHING NOISE. I was so loud infact I thought my speakers and iPad were going to EXPLODE. I was sweating, apprpoached my room door and was going to go to my parents. I pressed the sleep button and BANG THERE AGAIN SCREEEEEEEEECHING NOISE. NOW MY HEART was beating real quick, and I tried restarting it and AGAIN I WAS SUPER SCARED. My parents came to me and I waited, then quickly pressed the sleep button and luckily I was able to turn it off. Today I was able to type this message efrom my Ipad but in the morning when trying to listen to music the speakers were failing occasionally and I’m really scared so I have my volume mute. What should I DO? Helpppp I’m REALLY SURE ITS A SOFTWARE PROB.

omg i thought i was the only one! so i just purchased an ipad 2017 the other day, i was using it at a coffee shop and while i was about to type on my facebook messenger it bursted out this loooouuuuud screeeecccch which happened more than once that time it was embarassing because the coffee shop was a bit quiet and then there was that loud screeeccccchhhh i just turned of my unit and restarted it, i think this is an app issue coz it occured in facebook messenger.. (im nto sure about this.) but could also be due to the recent ios update... hope this gets fixed on the next update because its embarrassing makes me look like i have a defective unit.

I had a new iPad Pro for Christmas and today it made the same screeching noise described above. To define the cause it was when I tapped a button on the on-screen keyboard. Switching off the keyboard clicks cured the problem until I was sent a calendar update and the notification triggered the same awful noise. I then re-booted the iPad and it seems to have cured it again. I cannot begin to describe how loud the noise is and I am concerned it will damage the speakers

Can anyone assist?

This has just happened to me also iPad Pro only 5 months old and out of no where screaming noise like a cb radio. It happened about a month ago since the new updates started and now again with me not being anywhere near the ipad just sitting on the counter in sleep mode when suddenly it was screeching .

I have the same problem with me Ipad Air 2 (screeching and hissing sound). It starts suddenly when I using the messenger or other apps. Only the compulsory restart helps. I encountered with this problem after the 10.1. or 10.2 update.

I had the same issue of screeching noise. It appeared when I use the fb messenger. I was scared and threw it away. I wasn't able to recognise what is the noise and thought it would explode. My husband manage to turn it off. But I haven't touched it so far (for around 1 hour). Please advise what to do. Thanks.

I had this prproblem for the first time today, watching a video on twitter, stopped when closed the video, tested on Apple Music and had same terrible noise. Restarted and normal.

I have the iPad 2017 non pro version

I have had my iPad Pro 9.7 since they came out. I treat it like gold, have never dropped it and no one uses it other than me. I was starting to type an email when this same thing happened two days ago. Absolutely loud screech with every letter. Very frightening must say. I looked up fix on iPhone so as not to use iPad. Obviously it said to reset settings and turn it off etc, which I did. It hasn't happened since. What causes it and why? I will definitely take back if it happens again though. It was like it was an electrical spark.

Take back to place of purchase for checking or just see how it goes for

2/3 days sound may have come from speakers?

Thanks. I have cleared the fault for now but I have logged the fault with Apple and should it come back they have asked me to set up an appt at the nearest Apple Store.

My iPad Pro made the exact same noise today. I was using fb messenger at the time. Did anyone find out what the problem was?
