Big system issues after Sierra 10.12.1 update

If you are thinking of doing the Sierra 10.12.1 update from Dec 2016: DON'T

This is what happens to me:

-Apple mail: cannot read any emails! The emails download, I can see the topic line, but nothing appears in the body of the email. I can see the emails on phone and web browser (Chrome). Tried to rebuild the mailboxes, change the displays, reboot, delete email accounts and reinstall...to no avail.

TOTAL CRASH of Apple Mail.

-App store app: the App Store App does not display any longer.

So...what Shall I do:

-reinstall the whole operating system?

-buy a new computer?

Very miffed by this

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), iOS 10.1.1, null

I guess you mean the 10.12.2 update.

Restart your mac, hold down the Command and R keys, this should take you to your Recovery Disc.

From the splash screen select Disk Utility then click first Aid to perform any necessary repairs.

Then restart your mac. download this, Download macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Combo Update

then double-click the .dmg to install.

Hopefully this will sort your mac out.
