I use a Taotronics Bluetooth transmitter to listen to my TV while exercising so I won't disturb the house by high volume sound.
The transmitter only has little lights no screen. It works perfectly with plantronics backbeat fit.
but will I be able to use the new EarPods? And how is the volume adjusted in this situation?

I just tried it again and it worked!
So I just bought the same transmitter/receiver and I am unable to figure out how to connect them to my airpods. I opened the airpods case and pressed the back button till it was white and I put it in transmitting mode but they won't connect. Am i doing something wrong? Thanks!
Woohoo!! I can confirm I am able to pair the AirPods with TaoTronics Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter / Receiver. Beware there is multiple version of it and one is only receiver (the one you have). Here is the link to the one I am using.

bluetooth profile like most other headset and will work as other headset which follow that profile

I Have not found any way to control volume yet. Cannot do it via Siri when paired with transmitter,and Taotronics doesn't have volume control. So I'm stuck.
