iPod Shuffle (2nd Gen) Blinking Red Light

Hi, I have a 2nd Generation iPod Shuffle that was preowned so has probably not been used for a long while.

When I charge the iPod in the dock (connected to mains) the light is solid green. When i disconnect and turn the iPod on the light is still green however as soon as I press play the light flashes red for about 20 seconds and I have not yet been able to play music.

Can anyone help? I have charged the iPod for hours at this point and I'm not sure if this means the battery is just completely dead. Thanks in advance!

Hello there Nicerachnice,

It sounds like you are able to see a green light when you have your iPod connected to its charger, but as soon as you try to play something when it's not connected you see this red light. According to the following article that indicates that there is less than a 10% charge on it so it may not be holding a charge well.

Red: Less than 10% charge
