Emails go into Outbox

re my Ipad air 16 go, often my emails go into the Outbox instead of being sent. When I go to the Outbox, impossible to do anything but send to trash. There is no particular pattern to this occurrence. When I send them to trash, they are not there or anywhere else. Into outer space! Anybody have auggestions. This never happens on my desk-top computer.

Hi Barbyjac,

I understand you're having an issue with sent mail getting stuck in the Outbox.

It is normal for email to be in the Outbox for a short period of time before being moved to the Sent box after being sent to your email service provider.

Since you're having an issue with mail staying in the Outbox, that indicates that the Mail app is unable to properly send everything through your email provider's outgoing mail server.

Take a look at this article:
If you can’t send or receive emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you've recently changed your password, you'll need to update that info on your outgoing settings. Also, try this from different internet connections, and see if this happens on just Wi-Fi in one place or everywhere.

Go to settings Email accounts delete accounts then add back again .
