Display wakes up only for 1-2 sec

(I'm sorry for my english..)

Hello, I own an Apple Watch 2 Sport (42mm).

Sometimes (especially when a timer has been elapsed) the display remains active only for 1-2 seconds.

Yesterday I had to restart the watch because every actions (settings, dock, etc) has let me to use the display only for 1-2seconds.

Someone reported the same problem ?

Thanks!!!

Hi

When waking the screen by raising your wrist (with that setting enabled), the screen will stay awake for a few seconds without further interaction.

The display can also be configured to remain awake without ongoing interaction for up to either 15 or 70 seconds. This option applies when the screen is tapped on to wake it from sleep or when it is tapped on after being woken by raising your wrist.

To set your preferred wake duration when tapping the screen:

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wake Screen - under On Tap, select Wake for 15 or 70 Seconds.

Regardless of the chosen setting and of how the screen is woken, it is normal for the screen to sleep again if you lower your wrist before it is due to sleep automatically.

If the display is not remaining awake for as long as it should do, the following steps may help:

If you have not yet done so, update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:

Restart both your iPhone and your watch:

Unpair and re-pair your watch:

That is not normal. After a tap the watch should show the display longer. Test, if the issue persist, after the watch is fully charged. Have you checked, if the charger is clean as described here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204640

You have already restarted the watch. Did you restart the paired iPhone as well?

If not, restart the iPhone too and see, if that will make the "tap" work again fr a longer display.

If it still does not work, use Force restart: https://help.apple.com/watch/#/apd521a8a902

It was not meant as a trick but as a test to narrow down the problem. What I wanted to know is, if the watch face will stay up longer, if if you tap it to wake, or if the watch is turning off the display regardless of tapping to increase the wake time? That would indicate that the watch has entered a mode, where it cannot show the display for a longer time, for example Power Reserve mode or a temperature alert. If the watch is sensing a high internal temperature, it will take longer to charge and try to save energy.

OK, excuse me Lèonie I was not right.

So, yesterday night the battery was more or less at 65%. The device was not in sleeping mode.

When I touched the display (but usually I use a movement to wake up it), I i tried to do some action (for example go to the app screen), the display waked up only for 2 sec and I had to retouch for other 2 sec...

The same with a movement..

Strange ...

This is the first time in a Month I see this evident issue, but sometimes happened with the timer: when it was at the end (ringing) the display waked up only for fee seconds...
