Pencil battery status

despite making sure battery is in notifications in settings,when I swipe down from the main screen, there is no battery widget or icon to show how much charge is in the pencil battery. Followed apple support directions. iOS 10.2

Tried all of these things. Still no Apple Pencil battery status in the widget.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I see that you're having trouble seeing the amount of charge left on your Apple Pencil. I know how important it is to be aware of how much longer you have to use the pencil before it needs recharging. I would be happy to help.

First, make sure your Apple Pencil is paired with your iPad pro, using these instructions:

Pair your Apple Pencil with your iPad Pro

The first time you use your Apple Pencil, take off its cap and plug it into the Lightning connector on your iPad Pro. After a few seconds, you'll see the Pair button. Tap it.

After you pair your Apple Pencil, it will stay paired until you restart your iPad, turn on airplane mode, or pair with another iPad Pro. Just pair your Apple Pencil again when you're ready to use it.

Apple Pencil works only with iPad Pro.

Use Apple Pencil with iPad Pro

Then, you should be able to either swipe right from the lock screen and see the widget, or swipe Notification Center down from the top, then swipe right to see the widgets. Further information can be found here:

If you're still not seeing the battery's status in the widgets, try restarting your iPad Pro:
