iPhone7 plus camera not working (black screen)

I tried to restart the phone... nothing. I tried to actually reset the phone... nothing.
Went to Apple Store, they said: "it's the camera, it will need to be replaced."
I'm not comfortable with them having to open up a brand new phone... so I searched online... I found a site where they said you should "test the camera with a different App", to see if it's the physical camera having issues or not. So I downloaded a different Camera App (9cam) and the camera is working perfectly when I use it within that app. Yet if I try to restart the phone and go back to the regular camera app, nothing. Black screen of death. But if I open a different camera app... any other downloaded camera app... the camera is working perfectly.
In other words: Apple should release either an iOS or driver update for the camera... since it's the Apple Camera App that's not working.

I had to take my iPhone 7 plus into an Apple Store, we ran it through various tests and came to the conclusion that the camera was actually broken. I'd only had my phone for 3 months so they were happy to replace my device as it was under warranty.

When I'm doubt, take it to apple, they were really helpful.

I had this issue and while most want a hard reset powe and volume down that did not work for me.

Instead I used an earring (sewing needle or safety pin would also work however earrings are not sharp) to remove the SIM card and then pushed it back into place. This auto shuts the phone off and allows you to use the power button to turn immediately back on without a hard reset or having to use a backup either from iCloud or iTunes.

The phone is running the most up-to-date software. And I still don't understand why a brand new phone has to be opened up when the camera works 100% with other non-apple Camera applications (example: 9cam; ProCam; Camera+...)?! Shouldn't that be a driver/software problem? Why can't they release a software update to fix it?

I am also facing the same issue, after ios 11 upgrade,

its very frustrating while taking picture camera screen get black screen, and some times blur screen, and some times its hanged on last capture. I did restore all setting 1 day back, but seems issue is still there.

If you have not yet done so, it may help to update your iPhone to the latest software, starting by making a backup:
