It's just there for a long time. I think it will not be removed, even the Christmas ends.
And also, there is no upcoming update to remove or replace the ice skating emoji to roller skating emoji. Again, it's just there!

Oh please, stop the drama queen routine. It's a cartoon detection of a skate. It in no way should define who you are.
Apple doesn’t create emojis; the Unicode Consortium does, and they won’t be releasing any new ones until mid-2017. If desired, click here and request it.

Apple, why did you add an ice skating emoji instead of roller skating because soon winter will be over and I'll be expecting a roller skating emoji from the next update!! you get me really triggered sometimes but this has gone waaaaaay too far!
