Is this app (from the Italian app store) : https://itunes.apple.com/it/app/popcarte-cartolina-postale/id352550080?mt=8 ? If not then the developer (or Apple if it violates the store's terms) might have removed it - you could try contacting them
This one was I think $1.99 - but whether it is $1.99 or $19.99 - just tough luck?
Yes, any item (app, music album, film etc.) could be removed at any time, that's one reason why the store's terms advise you take a backup copy of anything that you download
I am having this issue as well. I was directed by Apple Help to reset my iPhone. And now the only missing app is Cartolina. It is not in any of the places you would go to recover purchased apps and it is no longer in the Apps store for purchase. I see it here http://www.cartolinaapps.com/ - "The Original Cartolina App" but when I click on the Apple store it says Item Not Available and that it is not available in the U.S. store.
If it's not in the store you can't redownload it - do you not have a copy of it in the Apps section of your computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library so that you can sync it back ?
Hi all - I contacted the creators of the Cartolina app several months ago when the same thing happened to me. This was the response, hope it helps.
"The Cartolina app hasn’t been available at the app store for almost 2 years. Apple made it very costly and difficult for small time developers like us to sell apps at the app store. Sorry about that. We just don’t have the budget. The app store has become very corporate - and not feasible for small companies like ours.
We are considering releasing a new version later this year if we can figure out how to work with Apple on a less costly level.

Hi - Thanks - Have not had the time to check yet but there is a small chance it is on my external backup drive. So still need to do that! If I have success, will note it here. Otherwise, for sure it was not retained in my computer's iTunes library purchased Apps section. I understand if the App maker decides to discontinue or put things on hold, but it just seems to point to an issue in iTunes tho - what happens when a discontinued app which was paid for slips through the cracks like that for customers after different upgrades and fixes? This one was I think $1.99 - but whether it is $1.99 or $19.99 - just tough luck?
