Sony headphones don't pair with new MacBook Pro with touch bar

I have a new MacBook Pro 15inch with touch bar and a Sony MDR-Xb950BT headphone. This headphone has bluetooth and has had no problem pairing with my phone and old 2011 MacBook Pro, but on my new MacBook Pro it won't connect. The headphone does not appear in the bluetooth window at all.

I can connect with my Logitech MX mouse and Magic keyboard 2, so bluetooth is working, just not with my headphones.

The headphone are of course on and fully loaded.

My MacBook runs on Sierra 10.12.2

If someone knows a solution for this, I would be very grateful!

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem with my Bose headphones. Solved it by following the headphone directions to clear the bluetooth from previous connections by holding the power button for 10 sec. until it said that bluetooth connections are clear, ready to pair. U probably need to do the same if ur speaker was perviously connected to something else. After that, my headphones appeared on the Bluetooth list. If that doesn't do it, follow the steps on this link to clear and debug the Bluetooth on your laptop. I went straight to method 4 as it was fairly easy. Good luck. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2016/02/01/experiencing-bluetooth-problems-on-your- mac-try-this/

Similar problem. I have a pair of Sony MDR-ZX330BT headphones that worked great with several other computers, including a 2015 MacBook Pro. On my 2016 MBP, they connect, but then my Logitech MX Master mouse skips badly and becomes disconnected. Just bringing up the Bluetooth control panel reactivates the mouse, suggesting it's a software problem. Even so, it's unstable. The mouse is fine without the headphones. I have tried resetting the Bluetooth hardware, deleting preferences, removing and reconnecting everything, and trying various environments (a downtown high-rise, my house, even my car near a Starbucks) but I get the same result. I think I just need to buy new wired headphones, even though Apple keeps pushing wireless.

Hello Richardkl,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to pair a Bluetooth headphone with your computer. It looks like you have multiple other Bluetooth devices in the environment. One thing you may want to try is to turn off the other devices and see if the computer is able to recognize the headphones. I would recommend you read this article and use it to help troubleshoot the issue.
