Either SAFT or SafariStand let you do that. Do you have either installed?

If you do, you can deactivate the save browser window function via their respective Preference panel. SAFT's preferences are part of Safari Preferences. SafariStand has its own menu panel - at the end of the panel you would select "safaristand setting".

If you want to uninstall, SAFT is found in your InputManagers folder in either your User or Main Library. Drag the SAFT folder to the trash.

SafariStand would be found in either Library>Applications Support>SIMBL>Plug-ins. Drag the related plug-in to the trash.

While surfing with Safari I received a message that I needed to update Flash Player. I went to the Adobe site and downloaded Flash Player 9 and installed it. Now I have lost my Quicktime capabilities in Safari. When I am on a page that is supposed to run video such as youtube. all I get is a dimmed out "Q" with a question mark in the middle.
Any help please.

Welcome to Apple Discussions

Important you "repair permissions" using Disk Utility in your Utilities folder after installing Flash. Also, check your Quicktime>Advanced>Mime settings in System Preferences, making sure nothing is selected in "Miscellaneous", Quicktime Movie is selected in Video, and "enable flash" is selected in your Advanced panel, if that option is present. If no success, start a new thread, as you're question is of a different nature than the original question of this thread.

Thanks

Hi H'S',

Please consider marking this post "solved" to the far
right of my name User uploaded file.

Helpful for others looking for a solved solution to a
similar question, also helpful for me.

I am trying to be helpful so please don't take offense. You do wonderful work here in the forums. Consider an edit. The image is very helpful. I may consider "borrowing" it. :~)

"In the helpful post(s) notice the 2 buttons to the left of the reply button. Click on the appropriate button. See the blue box at the top of the thread." Or words to that effect.

We both have an idea how many stars you have received on this post as opposed to the appropriate helpful/solved post. Readers are scratching their heads. :~(

It's the teacher in me.
