Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
There are several book titles appearing in my iBooks app (both on iPhone and iPad). These were free books offered and I selected them for future reading. I now do not plan to read them and want them off devices.
I select and then delete them, but the next time on iBooks, they are there again with the iCloud download logo on the upper right-hand corner. How do I permanently remove these titles? Same thing is happening with book samples I downloaded.

You can delete downloaded books from a device, but you cannot delete any purchase (including free items) from your purchase history.

Doesn't help to solve the problem. King_Pengiun stop answering if you don't know how to sort out the problem. Keep quiet if you don't know the right answer as you seem to pester various tread with unnecessary answers. We want to remove the books from the Cloud either if Apple likes or not.
You should be able to delete samples from the bookshelf, and they shouldn't show in the cloud. For the actual books you can hide them from the cloud, but you can't permanently delete purchases (including free items) from your purchase history : Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases - Apple Support
I do not understand why we cannot delete in iBooks especially free books. I am still trying the link to find the hide.
Why, when I delete the book from my device, does it not free any storage?
Have you closed the iBooks app via the device's taskbar and done a soft-reset/reboot of it ?
What problem are you having understanding the simple concept that you can’t delete any item from your purchase history ?
