Macbook pro 13" (2016) touch bar not visible

Hi all,

After enjoying my new macbook pro for a week or so, the touch bar suddenly stopped working (it is dark and non responsive). I looked at system settings->Keyboard and to my great surprise, the button that was there for configuring the touch bar is gone as well. It looks like my MBP decided to wipe anything related to the Touch Bar...

The Touch ID function is working.

I've reinstalled MacOS and also run diagnostics, but nothing found.

Any idea will be appreciated

Thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 10.2, 13" with Touchbar

You said the "Customize Control Strip" button at the bottom is now missing. Did you also lose the "Touch Bar shows ..." row toward the middle?

Did you also lose Safari's Menu entry View > Customize Touch Bar?

If so, it sounds like it's time to visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center and have this either repaired or replaced. But first, a Safe Mode boot might yield additional information, as that sends the Mac through additional hardware tests.

I am having a similar issue with my 15". The esc key and the control strip section randomly disappear. If I touch in the location of the button then it still triggers it's action and the button then becomes visible again.
I spoke with Apple Care over the phone and they had me do the safe boot and took a bunch of information from files on my computer, but then I never heard back from them. I later took it into the Apple Store and they did tests which revealed issues with the USB-C ports and wanted to collect the computer, so they ended up replacing it for me.
I picked up the replacement last night, and already today I'm having the same issues with the touchbar. Guess I might be going to Apple Store AGAIN...
My configuration in case others come looking and are curious:
15", 2.7 GHz, 512GB, Radeon Pro 460
