ping my iphone with LED

I'm running WatchOS 3 on an Apple Watch series 2. On the first generation Watch, there use to be the ability to long press on the 'ping my iPhone' button and the iPhone use to ping and the LED lights flash. I have not be able to get that feature to work. Has Apple removed that feature? If so, why? My iPhone pings but the LED never flashes.

Hi

The feature has not been removed.

To ping your iPhone and make it flash, touch and hold (do not "press") the Ping iPhone button in Control Centre:

If the feature does not behave as expected, the following steps may help:

If you have not yet done so, update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:

Restart both your iPhone and your watch:

Unpair and re-pair your watch:

Yes you are correct. The feature works perfectly and easily on my wife's Watch. Unfortunately, I tried all the steps but it hasn't resolved the issue.

I'm on the call the Apple so hopefully they can resolve it. They asked me to perform the exact steps you outlined. It could be the Watch. I had lots of trouble pairing the Watch back to the iPhone. I even had to do a hard reset AND 3 more attempts to pair. That never happened before!
