How long do i have to watch a tv series once purchased

I have the 1st Generation Apple TV which works fine. If I purchase a TV Series (like Prison Break) do I keep it or does it expire?

It won’t expire on its own(only rented movies do), but a problem on the Apple TV may cause it to be erased.

If it was purchased rather than rented, then it will never expire. You can watch it for as long as it is available in the store.

If you download it and store on a computer or device you can watch it for as long as its kept there even if it is no longer available in the store.
