I Had to change the harddisc of an older MacMini (A1103) which works actually fine as a movie and music server for my home network.
unfortunately I don't have any installation discs for MacOS Tiger 10.4.
i Tried to find a downloadable discimage but wasn't very successful.
any ideas where to get some ? Apple seems not to offer any anymore, which is sad, because the machine still works fine.
Avoid the Gray Discs, but Retail 10.4 or 10.5 should work...

Don't get the 10.4, get the 10.4.3 or 10.4.6 if you get 10.4 at all. You will want to eventually find out exactly which Mac Mini model it is, so you can be sure to get the original system discs if you want to be able to use Classic. A1103 refers to several Mac Minis.

The earlier models came with 10.3.7 and could use 10.4. The newer ones could only use 10.4.3 and 10.4.6 when it came to minimum retail operating system. Classic does not work without 10.4 some version installed either internally or a Firewire hard drive.
