Activity Sharing 'friend suggestion'

Hello,

I have been using my apple watch for about 4 months now. I miss the concept of competing with friends. I just thought that I don't have any friends that own an apple watch, but recently i found out that I do. However, the 'friend suggestion' portion do not suggest any friends of mine that own an apple watch.

I know for a fact that one of my friends who has an apple watch, but when i look him up from my contact, the activity app says he doesn't have one. "couldnt send invitation. you can only share activity with people who also have an apple watch"
